In the subscriptions of books 1 and 2, 9, 10, "Chiron Centaurus", "Chiron Centaurus et Absyrtus" and "Claudius Hermeros veterinarius" are respectively named as authors. The Ars veterinaria of Publius Vegetius Renatus (now considered to be identical with Flavius VR.) is practically the same work in literary Latin
